First Big Snow

We woke up this morning to the first "real" snow, the ones earlier this week were only a dusting. It seems very appropriate that we are staying with the huskys this weekend. Who better to show a coonie how to play in the snow than four huskys, a malamute, and a crazy BC.

there's sumthin under this stuff.

Shiloh trying to teach them how to make snow dogs

And then it was  rest time. All that snow play is very tiring. And yes the huskys should be sleeping in straw in their pen but I kinda spoil them!

Emmi is Eight Months Old Today

I can't believe how time has flown. She is as tall as Davie. Official stats are 49 pounds and 21.5 inches at the shoulder.

And she loves her brother.

Bender Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Grain Elevator

There was a time when these wooden structures dominated the landscape in the prairies. They are now few and far between. The CP rail line which once ran by was removed in 1963 I believe. The train that ran down this line was a steam locomotive known as the "Peanut". The town was Bender.

This one was built using Douglad Fir 2 x 10s then cladded with cedar siding

Happy Thanksgiving

We have been in Saskatchewan for almost three weeks so please excuse our lack of blogging. We will be posting stories of the road trip this week. Until then we hope everyone has enjoyed their turkey weekend. We are very thankful for good friends, wonderful dogs and a incredibly beautiful country that we live in.

We will be going home tomorrow, it has been a fun stay. I am going to miss my buddies. I took oodles of pictures and I think the choir has almost fine tuned their singing. Here are some pictures.
