Emmi is six months old today. I can't believe it! The sweet puppy has turned into a hooligan hound. Well not really she is an awesome pup and so easy eager to learn and easy to train. But she does have a mind of her own, surprise, surprise!! She has been so good for Davie and he is an awesome teacher for her.

We did an official weigh in and measurement today. She is 20 inches at the should and 43 pounds. Here are some pictures from today.

Haaaat Week

Davie and Emmi got to go to the channel on the river for the first time. Davie didn't go last year because we really didn't have much of a summer. The channel is still to high to cross but Davie went in for a dip and Emmi raced around in the shallows. I am sure once I can walk across she will be easy to convince to swim.

We spent the weekend at the Top Dog Agility trial, it was hot!! But it was fun. Well for me it was, Davie and Emmi were kind of bored. We have a great bunch of people up here doing agility and a remarkable variety of dogs.

Where did the puppy go??

Emmi looks so much like a dog now, they grow up way too fast! Davie has gone from a gentle big brother teaching his little sister about toys, squirrels and the best places to dig to full blown games of tag and wrestling matches. And the Maarvellous Miss Em's nose has really kicked in. This week we will begin some fun tracking training. We have also resumed our morning walks around the neighbourhood to check out what has happened over night. Davie is a happy guy he missed his morning walks. I don't like walking young pups too far I prefer to let them free run in the yard so they can control their own exercise. The other reason to start walking Emmi around the neighbourhood is to watch how she scents things. It has been very interesting. She definitely air scents but does more nose to the ground than Maggie (my last coonhound) did.

Emmi turned 23 weeks on Tuesday, it is hard to believe it has been three and a half months since we arrived home. Davie and her have a real blast playing, it is so wonderful to see them rip around the yard.
